Goodbye Karate, Hello Rookie Ball

This afternoon I will be going to karate for the last time. Well I say last time but I might go back in a while, we'll see. I'm going to take a break in karate to focus my efforts on rookie ball! I have been practicing hitting and fielding a bit with my daddy to try to get ready. One of my friends from school and her cousin are going to be on my team. We're going to have the coolest coach ever - my daddy! Yes, that's right, daddy will be the team's coach.

Intense Pressure

Those of you who know me, know that one of my main goals in life is to make others laugh. Sometimes the pressure of being a 4 year old comedian is too much. However I took some time this past fall recharging my comedic mind and want to share some of my new material.

I run around spinning one of my arms saying, "I might be small, but I'm fast."

"I'm strong, but I can't lift the solar system."

"There are a lot of things in my brain." Many have commented on this one with some witty comebacks that I do not care to share.

When we were speaking of what would be on our Christmas lists for 2009, I decided that Mommy will want "new boob covers". She thought it was funny and insightful.

And I have decided what kind of birthday party to have for daddy's upcoming 31st birthday - a laptop party because "he loves working".

And Mr Jason and Ms Amy caused some "commotion" when they were here and it probably had something to do with my rendition of "Brickhouse".

I know it isn't much but I'm trying. If I can be like Pappaw and have a joke for every occasion I'll be happy.

My Christmas Vacation

Well it has been a long time since I've posted anything and that's because I've had such a busy holiday season. We were gone for 12 days and then the next day left again for the day. We also had some friends come visit us. So here's the story.

Mommy and Daddy had the van packed to the top and picked me up from school. We headed to Pappaw, Granna, and Aunt Jamie's for several days. Pappaw retired which means he doesn't have to go to work anymore. There was a big party for him that we went to. And oh the cake! There were 3 different types of cake. I sang on the microphone for everyone to hear. We spent the next few days doing things like eating with Grandma and playing with Landon my second cousin. I also took a trip to see Santa with my friend Jada. We headed up to our house in Toxey and had so much fun. Grandma came with us and Uncle John, Aunt Amy, and cousin Foster came down too. Daddy took me out in the woods looking for deer tracks and whatnot. I am becoming a regular woodsman. I spotted deer tracks up and down the red dirt road where the family house is. I saw a dead deer even!

Santa Claus came to see us in Toxey. I got just what I asked for - Martian Matter (SO cool! and it works great), some Planet Heroes, and a remote control truck. I got a lot of other toys that I have been enjoying very much as well. We just had so much fun opening all those presents.

I also got to visit Granna's cousin's cattle farm. Cousin William took us out in a trailer attached to his 4 wheeler to see the cows. There were calves and pregnant cows. One of the two bulls pooped in front of me and that was my favorite part of course because I'm all boy!
When we got home we slept and left the next morning for Granny's. Papa, Nanny, Aunt Mimi, and Austen were there too. We just hung out all day and I got to shoot Austen's BB gun.

Mr Jason and Ms Amy also came to visit. They are so cool. We played a lot of Wii and Ms Amy helped me with the Lite Bright. I stayed up till midnight with those guys.

We did a lot of other stuff but how can you fit it all into one blog? I guess I will mention some of the fun stuff we did at home...I had a Lego Advent calendar daddy and mommy put together with Clone Wars Legos, we went to Cooper's Tree Farm again for our tree, we decorated the tree together, and we set up a candy cane forest in the front yard.

Lego Mania

I have been building with blocks since I turned 1 year old and got my first set of Lego Quattros. I play with Duplos most of the time because they are safe around Trinity. However I absolutely love regular Legos. Last year I started getting Legos in an advent calendar. This year the advent calendar has Star Wars Legos in it. I have been slowly building the sets each morning as I receive a few more pieces. I also dragged out one of my Creator sets and have been following the instructions myself. Daddy let me play with the box of small Legos yesterday and I built some cool things all by myself. Daddy and Mommy said they were super impressed by my Lego skills.

Whistle While You Vacation

I am on vacation and staying at Uncle Mike's right now. Tonight we had dinner with my great grandparents at the campground. We just got back and I whistled for the first time ever. I cannot do it again, but I'm trying. I'll hopefully have it down pat here shortly. Tomorrow we head to the Gulf of Mexico for Thanksgiving. I'm having lots of fun with all of my family!

Halloween

I was a bug chef for Halloween and I also dressed as a toad for school. I really enjoy Halloween and am already asking to be Speed Racer for next year. I still have candy left and am slowly working through it. I am actually sharing my candy for the first year with my parents. Oh and Nanny was here for Halloween which was so much fun. I wanted Papa to be here too, but he had to work.

Karate update - I earned my second belt on Monday. I'm now a full yellow belt.

Birding & Math Skills

I have been enjoying watching birds for quite a while now. I impressed mommy this morning by identifying a bird on our back porch, picking up the bird book, and finding the corresponding bird in the book. If you don't have a bird book at your home, I recommend this book and of course I'd get the one that is designed for your particular state. If a 4 year old can look up birds in this book, anyone can!

I am learning some addition skills. Daddy was impressed the other day when I correctly answered several addition questions while playing a game on the Handy Manny website. I also did some math with mini marshmallows this morning. I picked up one marshmallow in one hand, two in the other and told mommy that 1 + 2 = 3.
